Mark Halperin’s three things to watch for in politics for Friday, July 31.
1. Watch to see what President Obama does today to drive his health care message. Rarely does a day go by without the president making public comments on health reform, so watch to see what he might do today.
2. Watch the administration’s summit for Cabinet members tonight and tomorrow across Pennsylvania Avenue from the White House at Blair House. It could be nothing — not a lot of the event is open press — but watch to if any message comes out of the meetings that helps the administration define what gets covered on the Sunday shows.
3. Watch as Congress gears up for its August recess and the health care debate that will be waged across the country in the next month. Watch for more developments to see what kind of efforts both parties are making to prepare their members to return to their districts and sell whatever argument they have on health care.
