Deeds Tops McAuliffe in Virginia

Despite the Clinton pal’s name recognition, state Sen. Creigh Deeds easily wins the Democratic gubernatorial primary in Virginia Tuesday. Gets 50% of the vote compared to McAuliffe’s 26% and Brian Moran’s 24%. He’ll now face Republican Bob McDonnell, who beat him in the ’05 attorney general election by a few hundred votes.
