Illinois Gov. Quinn: Burris Should Resign

The governor says the embattled Senator should step down “as quickly as possible” for the good of the state.

“I know it is very hard for any human being to resign from anything, but the common good is really what we have to focus on in Illinois today.”

Says at a Chicago news conference that, if Burris resigned, he would appoint a temporary Senator until a special election could be held.
