Mark Halperin's Three Things

Article Tools

Mark Halperin's three things to watch for in presidential politics for Tuesday, November 25.

1. Watch Barack Obama's second press conference of the week at noon ET in Chicago. The president-elect is expected to be announcing plans to cut costs in the federal budget, as well as introducing Peter Orszag as his director of the Office of Management and Budget. Watch to see the tone and substance of what Obama says. NBC News reports a third economic press conference is scheduled for Wednesday as well.
2. Watch the real world economy. There are still lots of questions about the Citigroup deal, but also about the rest of the economy. At 10 am ET, Treasury Secretary Hank Paulson will announce a new loan program targeted at credit card, student loan and car finance companies. Watch to see what news develops on that front.
3. Watch John McCain having his own press conference at 1 pm ET. It's another chance to evaluate what he plans to do to be part of the loyal opposition in the new Congress.
