The Democrat tells NBC's Brian Williams that whoever is elected will have a more challenging adjustment than past president-elects because of the state of the economy.
"I don't think there's any doubt about that. We--we know that the next President is likely to inherit a significant recession."
"We don't know yet how long and how deep it is and what actions we take-- over the next six to nine months could de-- help determine how deep and how long."
