A New Market Panic Grips Europe

Iceland reportedly froze its plummeting exchange rate and took over the country’s second largest bank Tuesday.

Meanwhile U.K. bank shares fell sharply and E.U. leaders scrambled to shore up confidence and prevent market meltdown.

And/But: Asian markets remain mixed after Australia surprised markets slashing its key rate a full percentage point to 6%.
