McCain: “I Didn’t Want to Phone It In”


The Arizonan defends his decision to suspend his campaign and return to Washington in an interview with the Columbus Dispatch, while also taking a swipe at Obama.

“Sen. Obama said he was available to discuss the issue by phone. I didn’t want to phone it in.”

Also calls bailout bill “an emergency measure to try to stop the bleeding,” says it would be “very very hard” to win the election without Ohio.
