Schmidt: No More Vetting Answers

One day after the campaign grudgingly revealed new information about the unorthodox nature of Palin's background check, McCain strategist supremo says:

"The McCain campaign will have no further comment about our long and thorough process."

Comes after WashPost's Balz reports the Alaska governor wasn't subject to a lengthy in-person background by vetter Culvahouse until last Wednesday in Arizona, the day before McCain asked her to be his No. 2.

Campaign still refuses to say when Palin handed in her exhaustive questionnaire.
