WashPost uncovers e-mails between the Alaska governor and former public safety commissioner Walter Monegan, in which she criticizes state troopers for failing to fire her former brother-in-law.

“It was a joke, the whole year long ‘investigation’ of him. This is the same trooper who’s out there today telling people… he’d ‘never work for that b****’, Palin’.”

Palin’s spokeswoman says she was alerting officials of potential threats to her and her family, there’s no evidence she ever ordered him to be fired.
