Cheney Condemns Russia Over War

The Vice President is in Georgia, and has condemned Russia for what he says is an "illegitimate, unilateral attempt" to change Georgia's borders by force. The visit comes a day after the White House announced a US$1 billion economic aid package for the country, ravaged by last month's war with Russia. Permalink

The presidential nominee, who entered the Xcel arena ahead of Palin's speech, popped out for a photo-op following her remarks. The crowd roared as McCain stepped onto the stage. Permalink

PALIN GETS TOUGH AGAINST OBAMA, CRITICS

Romney Rails Against Obama, "Liberals" in Convention Speech

The former Massachusetts Governor criticizes Obama on terrorism, says "liberal" Washington needs to be replaced with conservative players in St. Paul. "And at Saddleback, after Barack Obama dodged and ducked every direct question, John McCain hit the nail on the head: radical Islam is evil, and he will defeat it! National Journal's poll of GOP insiders says Romney is the clear favorite next time around. He takes 55 percent of the Beltway insiders, followed by "nobody" and Jeb Bush. Latest Troopergate Development: Palin E-mails

WashPost uncovers e-mails between the Alaska governor and former public safety commissioner Walter Monegan, in which she criticizes state troopers for failing to fire her former brother-in-law. "It was a joke, the whole year long 'investigation' of him. This is the same trooper who's out there today telling people... he'd 'never work for that b****', Palin'.” Palin’s spokeswoman says she was alerting officials of potential threats to her and her family, there’s no evidence she ever ordered him to be fired. Noonan: I Don't Think McCain is "Over"

The WSJ columnist attempts to clarify comments caught on an MSNBC open mic Wednesday, saying she was referring to the Republican party of the past, not the GOP campaign. "I do not think the campaign is over, I do not think this is settled...." Noonan was talking with GOP strategist Mike Murphy; click above to watch. Murphy: "It's not going to work!" Biden Wraps Up Florida Visit

The vice presidential nominee ends his two day trip to the swing state with an event in Fort Myers on Wednesday. Lays out the Democratic ticket’s positions on Israel and offshore drilling in folksy stump speech, joking about an operation he once had in Florida. "I left part of me here in Fort Myers.
