Mark Halperin's three things to watch for in presidential politics for Monday, August 11:
1) Pay attention to the storylines of the campaign today. The Russia-Georgia conflict, the Olympics, the John Edwards story, and energy have all dominated the news in recent days-- watch to see which issue dominates this week.
2) Continue to watch what the Obama campaign does to deal with the absence of their candidate while he's off in Hawaii. The campaign came out with a new, very tough campaign ad on John McCain this morning. Watch to see what else the Obama campaign does to fill the gap. Be sure to check The Page for the campaign ad and all the latest in the race.
3) Keep an eye on John McCain in the Pennsylvania battleground today. The Arizonan will stump through the Keystone State with Tom Ridge, the former governor and oft-mentioned veep candidate. Watch the body language between those two, and look for any clues as to whether Ridge might end up being McCain's pick for number two.
