Obama, Merkel Discuss Mideast, Economics

The Senator and the German Chancellor discussed the wars in Iraq, Afghanistan as well as climate and energy issues.

Merkel's spokesman said their hour-long session featured "very open" and wide-ranging talks.

They spoke at the chancellery, which sits across from the city's famed glass-domed Reichstag. He also met with Foreign Minister Frank Walter Steinmeier.
