Sen. Cochran Recalls McCain Dustup with Sandinistas

The GOP Senator describes to the Mississippi Sun Herald how McCain lost his temper with an Ortega associate in a 1987 trip to Nicaragua.

Says McCain “snatched him up like he was throwing him up out of the chair to tell him what he thought about him… I thought, good grief, everybody around here has got guns and we were there on a diplomatic mission.”

Cochran also tells the paper despite previous remarks, he now thinks McCain is best for the job.
