The Clinton Factor in Some Downballot Races

Longtime Brooklyn Rep. Edolphus Towns backed the New York Senator — even though his district voted overwhelmingly for Obama — and now some of them are pushing to vote him out.

Tensions echo those in a handful of races nationwide where Democratic incumbents with large black constituencies are trying to soothe resentments, anger incited by their support for Clinton.
