
Speaking to reporters on the Straight Talk Express, the Arizonan says his trip to Colombia and Mexico this week will focus on trade, an issue he vows not to back away from just because of a flailing economy.
“You gotta stand on principle. I believe in the principle of free trade.... The most precious commodity I have in this race is that sense of trust.”
Vows not to attack Obama while overseas but says he would repeatedly question his rival's position on trade pacts while in the U.S.
Adds he also wants to tell the two countries that he'll pay a lot of attention to them as president. “What happens in Columbia and Mexico is very important to the future of America.”
