WSJ: Political Leaders Lag in Response to Soaring Oil Prices

Paper reports emerging economies like India and China have been reluctant to raise relatively low fuel prices “for fear of social and economic turmoil.”

Adds that Western leaders have little ability to increase global oil supply or temper demand.

Comes as national gas average hits $4/gallon, some say it could hit $5 by July 4.
