Voter ID Battle Shifts to Proof of Citizenship


NY Times: Missouri lawmakers expected to support proposal allowing election officials to ask for proof of citizenship from those registering to vote.

Measure would require voter approval — possibly in an August referendum just months before the presidential election.

Issue could be the “next battleground” in how elections are conducted with similar measures being considered in at least 19 states.
