ABC: Show led with Obama’s $32 million January fundraising blitz. Report from LA on fight for key Hispanic vote—Clinton with Mayor Villaraigosa, Obama in East LA touting multiracial roots. George Stephanopoulos showed Feb 5 battlegrounds on map. GOP report looked at McCain fundraising and his bid for conservative support-- clips of dissatisfied voters and Limbaugh blasting Schwarzenegger endorsement.   CBS: Led with Democratic debate, Obama fundraising. Solis Doyle said it’s a race for delegates. GOP report said McCain is “on a roll,” noting Schwarzenegger, Perry nods. But conservatives remain unhappy—clips of Limbaugh and Grover Norquist.   NBC: Led with congressional report saying the Pentagon is unprepared to handle catastrophic attack. Next, examined McCain's "Republican star power" given Schwarzenegger endorsement in a "contest fast becoming a two-man tit-for-tat." Then, turned to NY Times story on B. Fundraising shocker: Obama raises $32 million in January   *Matches his previous three-month record.*   The most ever raised by a Democrat in the January of an election year.   Campaign manager Plouffe says they also added 170,000 new donors. Strongest day-- after losing New Hampshire primary. --Obama mailer hits Connecticut, attacks Clinton on her vote for Iraq war.   --Obama's Plouffe on media conference call defended Wednesday Colorado speech, adding this zinger at the end:   "I don't think their campaign...generally ruled to be out of bounds in any number of areas, has a lot of authority on lecturing any else about the tone of a campaign." Candidates Vie for Giuliani, Edwards' Moneymakers

Their exits marked open season on supporters -- who helped them raise a combined $100 million in '07.   Washington Post: "Edwards's finance team splintered in a matter of hours," while "several of Giuliani's top bundlers...said yesterday they were hesitant to join another campaign."   Wall Street Journal: "Mr. Giuliani's well-heeled supporters might not throw their money behind the cash-strapped Arizona senator so fast." On the Morning Shows

Huckabee on MSNBC's "Morning Joe" complained about debate time, said don't count him out. Went rough on Romney's conservative credentials, characterizing him as a flip flopper on issue after issue. Click above to watch.   Romney in a taped interview after Wednesday night's debate airing on CNN's "American Morning" defended his debate criticism of rival McCain saying he's "out of step with Republicans on issue after issue. That's what's going to hopefully get me the nod."   Wolfson on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” stayed on message, feels strong going into Super Tuesday, defended B. Clinton’s campaigning for his wife. On Obama, said characterizing the snub wasn’t for him to decide but “it certainly didn’t look like he wanted to shake her hand,” said Wednesday Colorado speech didn’t go along with his “hope rhetoric.” Permalink
