ABC: Led with Kate Snow on novel techniques to ensure caucus turnout Thursday, including volunteers with shovels. Jake Tapper covered Huckabee's ad surprise, which "stunned even some of his own staff." Stephanopoulos told Gibson he believes Bloomberg wants to be president, but can't win as an independent.

 

CBS: Nancy Cordes led the show with Huckabee ad saga, which Romney called "confusing." Jim Axelrod looked at the tight Democratic race, noted that Edwards seems to have momentum. Chip Reid spent time with Edwards, the only candidate to visit each IA county twice. Campaign Notebook mentioned McCain's NH trip, Giuliani's day off. Jeff Greenfield marveled at how much money is spent on so few caucus votes-- approx $275 on each participant. Dean Reynolds looked at Michelle Obama's impact on black voters, called her "the closer."

 

NBC: Broadcast led with Iowa countdown piece by Lee Cowan focusing on Huckabee's unorthodox press events and Giuliani's Feb. 5 strategy (warns there's a "real possibility" that candidates can go into Super Tuesday as tightly locked as they are now). Followed by Bloomberg piece, pondering whether he will run or not.
